Sri Lanka treasury interest rate starts following inflation with massive rate adjustment
The Treasury Bill rates recorded highest ever jumped at primary auction just after last week CBSL rate hike. 91Days T-Bill rate jumped to 19.71% from 14.12%, while 182Days T-bill rate shoot to 22.73% along with 364days Tbill to 23.36%. CBSL managed sell LKR 82Bn out of there offer of LKR 87.5Bn. After more than one year CBSL managed to accept over LKR 10Bn from longer tenor of the securities, which will reduce money printing and counter the inflation.
