IMF emphasis the implementation of Property Tax by next year
IMF says in the report on 2nd Review “The introduction of an imputed rental income tax is critical to sustain revenue mobilisation efforts”. IMF request a nationwide digital Sales Price and Rents Register (SPRR) by end-March 2025 to operationalized the tax collection.
Further, it says “Imputed rental income is the deemed income that homeowners could earn if they rented out their homes. The tax is imposed on the income of individuals (rather than the real property itself) and thus raises central government revenue”
