People who work more than 40hr per week marginally below the pre-crisis level

The statistics from the Gallup survey reveal that the average full-time employee works approximately 44 hours per week, with 41% working 45 or more hours. In Sri Lanka, while 66% of employees worked more than 40 hours pre-crisis, this decreased slightly to 64% by the end of 2023.

The ADP study emphasizes the impact of remote and hybrid employment on this trend, highlighting how the shift to working from home can blur boundaries between work and personal life, resulting in increased work hours.
