Sri Lanka main Stock index up for eleven consecutive trading days

ASPI has been on the green for the last eleven trading days, which is the highest straight upward movement for 2024. On a cumulative basis, the index is up by 6.9% on these eleven days. The index is now up by 12.9% for 2024.

The outflow of foreign counterparties has gradually slowed down. It hit a high of LKR 8Bn in mid-March and has now fallen to LKR 7.0Bn. The daily average turnover has been LKR 2.9Bn so far in April, which is well above the January figure of LKR 715Mn, February LKR 1.7Bn and on March LKR 1.8Bn.
