Tourism inflow surpassed USD 1Bn within the 1Q of 2024

Sri Lanka recorded USD 338Mn FX inflow from tourism in March to reach over USD 1Bn inflow for the 1Q of 2024. This is an increase of 94% compared with the same period last year. Tourism inflow of the 1Q 2024 is 32% below the pre-crisis level.

Tourist arrivals are also up by 89% in the first three months of 2024 reaching to total of 635,784 arrivals within this period.
