Low imports due to higher taxes along with weakening the buying power of the Sri Lanka consumers made LKR to gain against USD for year so far. Sri Lanka received the IMF 2nd tranche of USD 337Mn in December 2023, which followed by USD 200Mn from ADB and USD 100Mn from the World Bank.
