Stocks fell by little over 3% during the week as uncertainty delaying over IMF 2nd tranche

Investor sentiment on the near-term recovery of economic activities is yet to bounce back as delaying IMF 2nd tranche and uncertainty over building up more taxes in the upcoming budget. The average turnover was further slipped to LKR 739Mn from LKR 962Mn of the previous week.

However, net foreign inflows improved by LKR 35Mn, slightly up from the end of the last month. CBSL cut the interest rates to boost the economy, but the stock market is yet to response favorably.
