Despite west is wet, hydroelectricity generation contributing only 28% to the total electricity generation

The composition of Electricity generation is substantially different in 2023 from 2022, where thermal electricity generation covers a major part due to the drought prevailed in the country. The rainy season has been activated for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northwestern provinces and South. But yet to see enough rain to some of the power-generating stations like Victoria, and Randenigala.
