CBSL raised additional LKR 42.6Bn at Phase-II of the T-Bill auction

CBSL has accelerated raising funds from domestic sources to settle local debt and some external debt since external financing is limited. CBSL has not announced any bond auctions near term. It is possible that Bond issuance would be restricted until the finalization of DDR.

During the last two T.Bill auctions, CBSL was not able to raise the targeted funds at phase-I. However at phase II they managed to fulfill more than the required amount. With the recent action of raising the T.Bill ceiling by another LKR1Trillion it is learnt that Sri Lanka is expected to heavily really on domestic short-term borrowing.
