EPF has a positive net cash flow of nearly LKR 30Bn every year

EPF is at the center of Domestic Debt Restructuring (DDR) news as it would be a possible candidate to absorb the DDR hit. EPF holds a massive LKR 3.4 Trillion in funds from the public where 95% of that money has been lent to the government. EPF carries net positive cashflow on average of LKR 30Bn per year.

Due to the size of the fund and the complexity of executing a DDR on the public, authorities would possibly restructure the EPF funds to bail out the government.
