CBSL prints stunning  LKR 121Bn to settle debt obligations

CBSL Treasury bill holdings increased by LKR 121Bn on 15th March as a result of the settlements of domestic and external debt payments due on that date.

The t-Bond settlement fell due on the 15th of March was partially settled out of the printed money as the T. Bond auction was undersubscribed and CBSL only managed to reissue only LKR 110Bn to the market at the respective primary auction.

However, CBSL was able to an additional LKR 30Bn issued via T-Bill auction on the 17th to reduce the money printing from LKR 121Bn to LKR 98Bn
