Sri Lanka Stocks end the year with a 30% downturn

Sri Lanka’s main stock index ASPI fell by 30% for the year, while the average daily turnover was LKR 2.9Bn down from LKR 4.9Bn in 2021. But Sri Lanka stocks attracted foreigners as they were net buys of LKR 30.6Bn during 2022 and they were net sellers in 2021 of LKR 52.6Bn.

On average there were 86 positive and 108 negative contributors per trading day throughout 2022.
