CBSL had to settle nearly LKR 160Bn as principal payments as well as interest payments on 15th December. But the T-bond auction failed to raise the entire LKR 160Bn and managed to sell LKR 124Bn. CBSL has printed an additional LKR 64Bn on the settlement date.

Domestic debts are been settled via money printing in the recent period as no other funding sources are available.
