Sri Lanka’s vehicle population is 8.3 Mn, out of which 58% accounted for motorcycles, 11% cars and 14% motor tricycles as at end of 2021. The government has initiated QR code-based fuel rationalization. At the start of the program on the 1st of August, 75% and 76% of the cars and motor Tricycles registered, whereas 62% of motorcycles and 32% of the buses along with 58% of the vans also registered at the end of 1st Aug 2022.
