The hydro electricity generation has picked up in recent weeks
Sri Lanka had a bad drought which resulted in low utilization of water resources to generate electricity. The use of coal and thermal power from oil had to increase for electricity generation, which errored the limited foreign currency reserves. The seasonality pattern of the electricity generation indicates a higher contribution of hydroelectricity generation ahead.
