The hydro-electricity generation has started picking up with the favorable weather condition
The electricity generated by ECB was skewed to thermal power due to drought and seasonal behavior. Due to the current FX crisis, country has to spent large amount of Foreign currency to import oil and coal. With the South-West monsoon, the water levels in the major reservoirs have risen by 66%. This would help to reduce Sri Lanka dependency on oil for electricity generation.
