The Indian oil unit in Sri Lanka, LIOC increased the petrol by Rs. 50.00 per litre and diesel by Rs. 75.00 per litre from yesterday night. Accordingly, the new price of a litre of petrol would be Rs. 254 and a litre of diesel would be Rs. 214.

This price increase came just after CBSL allow the free float of the Rupee, which effectively devalued from Rs.202 to Rs.260. It looks like the first massive commodity price increase in Sri Lanka and many more to follow.
