Sri Lanka experiences healthy tourist arrivals despite geo-political tension

The actual monthly tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka have successfully surpassed the target in February. The market share of Russia and Ukraine out of total arrivals for 2019 was 6.3% while the market share for 2021 was 12.2%.

Authorities say looking at the bookings, an optimistic trend can be seen as it reveals that Russians still continue to travel to Sri Lanka despite the Ukrainians having significantly fallen down. February the highest percentage of tourist arrivals recorded from Russia (16%), followed by India (13%) and UK (11%)
