Sri Lanka CBSL has been the net seller of foreign exchange for second consecutive month
Sri Lanka succeeded in maintaining domestic currency at managing LKR float with USD in 2019 where Rupee fell only from 179 to 181 during that period. CBSL was a net buyer of foreign exchange of USD 387Mn from the market. The first two months, CBSL was able to maintain the same and was the net buy of USD 96Mn but lost the grip in the next two months (March / April) as CBSL became the net seller of FX amounted to USD 272 Mn, where LKR fell from 181 to 192 by end of April.
