Global Food Price Index hits a three-year high in 2020
Food Price Index compiled by FAO hits a three-year high in 2020. Sri Lanka food inflation measured by CCPI- Food sub-index (Colombo Consumer Price Index) also have picked up in 2020, despite overall inflation remained below 6% in 2020. Oil prices have jumped significantly during recent months expecting economic recovery with COVID vaccine.
