Sri Lanka’s overall rule of law score decreased 3% in this year’s Index. At 76th place out of 139 countries and jurisdictions worldwide, Sri Lanka fell three positions in global ranking. Sri Lanka’s score places it at 2 out of 6 countries in the South Asia region and 8 out of 35 among lower middle income countries. Significant trends for Sri Lanka included a deterioration in the factor measuring Order and Security.
