Postal voting for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election started on 27th Sep & the election will be held on 11th Oct

In 2002 local government election, UNP-48% & UPFA-40%. But in 2011 local government election UNP fell to 31% UPFA-59%. In the last local government election held in 2018 overall results in Galle District was as follows; UNP-27%, SLPP-51%, UPFA-12%. In 2002 the electorate has been more favor towards UNP but later it has been shifted to an anti-UNP electorate.
