Sri Lanka to face a dengue outbreak
Sri Lankan medical local authorities have been asked to prepare a mechanism to control an imminent dengue outbreak with the onset of the monsoonal rains in the country, as the death toll from the virus has reached 20 this year by xinhuanet.com. Dengue cases rosed in Jan but fell back sharply during the last couple of months. A significant increase in reported cases found in Colombo, Kandy, and Ratnapura in the month of May. These figures may be underestimated due to the practical difficulties faced by health authorities due to COVID19.
