Sri Lanka is planing 70 percent of the electricity in country from renewable by 2030
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has directed that plans be made to produce 70 percent of the electricity in the country from renewable sources by 2030, following a meeting with the solar and wind energy ministers. The contribution of the Non-Conventional Renewable Energy (NCRE) to the total generation was average 10% in 2019 and it has been 7.0% this year.
