Sri Lanka's electricity generation fell by 4% in Jan from a year earlier. Hydroelectricity generation fell to 18% of the total generation while electricity generation from cool shoots up to 44%. Renewable energy sources have contributed around 12% and generation via wind has contributed 4 Gwh to national gird for the first time.
