Global Natural Gas Prices continue to rise, highest levels since 2014
Natural gas prices have hit their highest levels since 2014, outpacing oil and many other commodities in first nine months. Natural gas prices are up 117.6% in the year-to-date, while the biggest nat. gas benchmark, the United States Natural Gas ETF, LP is up 88.6%. Meantime, the spot price of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Asia is trading at record highs for this time of year amid reports that traders across the globe are competing to secure scarce cargoes. Looking at the percentage share for each region shows Asia is likely to import 76.5% of global LNG supply in September, while Europe will take 16.5%.
