Curfew was imposed island wide to combat the COVID-19 while close to 20,000 have been arrested

The curfew was imposed on all other districts and from time to time it was left but the curfew imposed in the high-risk areas such as Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy, and Jaffna districts were not given such flexibility as more cases found in these areas. Many violations were reported across the country which undermine the purpose of imposing curfew to have an effective social distance to minimize the COVID-19 spreading.
