Cellular Mobile phone Penetration & Internet Penetration in Sri Lanka have started falling since 4Q 2019
Telephone density of Fixed lines (Telephones per 100 persons) has been falling continuously as most public prefer to move to mobile phones. But overall Telephone density which including Cellular (Telephones per 100 persons) also seems to be struggling to grown since 1Q 2019. The number of Internet connections end of 2019 has been estimated as 13,408,403 which has fallen to 13,078,980 by end of 1Q 2020. But the Subcategory of telecommunication recorded the highest growth of 6.3% during last four quarters in the service sector.
