Sri Lanka employment has shifted towards service sector than industry sector
Sri Lankan government is emphasizing import substitutions as a long term strategy to fulfill the requirement of some of the agricultural products and local manufacturing items. And further, encouraging local productions to focus on the export market. But last decade, employment has shifted more towards the service sector and less improvement towards the industry sector. During that period, the contribution of the agriculture sector remains the same.
