Sri Lanka Treasury Bill rate plunged once again at Primary Auction
The massive excess liquidity in the money market has sent the risk-free Treasury bill rates to further down as 91 days bill fell from 5.50% to 5.08%, 182 days bill from 5.53% to 5.22%, and 364 days bill from 5.66% to 5.45%. Corporate investors and banks are running to park the money at less risky assets than investing in another financial instrument yet. CBSL has promised to keep the money market with a flood of money until they see banks taking a calculated risk and start extending the credit.
