Pressure on Sri Lanka dollar-denominated sovereign bond is easing off
Pressure on Sri Lanka dollar-denominated sovereign bond is easing off after Sri Lanka repaid the USD 1Bn international sovereign bond matured on 4th October without any default or delay. Several emerging markets have defaulted on their internal debt obligations in the recent past as a result of sharp erosion of their reserves and foreign currency inflows. Sri Lanka did not default on any of its international obligations even during 30 years of civil war which destroy the economy to the groud.
